Research, identify and propose measures to cope with the risks and challenges of ecological security in Vietnam in the process of international economic integration

1. Objectives of Research: - Provide the theoretical basis and practical experience of the developed countries on ensuring ecological security to serve sustainable development;- Identify the risks and challenges to security in our country in the present and in the near future- Recommend comprehensive measures to respond to such risks and challenges to serve the sustainable development process in Vietnam in the period to 2020.2. Subjects and Scope of Research:- Subject of Research: The contents of ecological security that are interested in the world and the impact of security issues to social development - Scopet of Research:  The ecological security issues should be concerned and ensured in Vietnam to secure living environment for humans in the process of economic and social development and to propose specific solutions; Integrated ecological perspectives in the strategic planning and the national action programs of socio-economic development in the future.3. Methodology: - Refer to the international experience of the specific issues/areas that are important for the building of policy for ecological security- On the basis of inheriting the domestic research results and new studies abroad, and based on the survey, analyze the data, the results summary through consultation workshops with participation of experts to assess and find solutions suitable to Vietnam 4. Contents:- Summarizes the experience of developed countries in the development of policies related to sustainable development in accordance with ecological approach. The specific results achieved in each specific areas of the NRE, such as land use planning, water, urban ecological environment, mining, waste management, etc. - Identify the risks and challenges of ecological security in our country in the period ahead and propose countermeasures through proposed guidelines and appropriate policies in each specific sectors;- Prepare scientific synthesis report summarizing the results of a comprehensive study on ecological security in Vietnam and recommend policy to ensure ecological security for sustainable development5. Results Obtained: Synthesis report on “Research, identify and propose measures to cope with the risks and challenges of ecological security in Vietnam in the process of international economic integration” 6.
