Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment working with JEAS on cooperation in environmental impact assessment in Vietnam

On March 1, 2018, Institute of Strategy, Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (ISPONRE) had a working session on cooperation in environmental impact assessment in Vietnam with Mr. Yasutoshi Sagami - representative of the Association Japan Environment Association (JEAS) and OSUMI VietNam. Attending the meeting were Director Nguyen The Chinh, Deputy Director Mai Thanh Dung, Ms. Kim Thi Thuy Ngoc - Head of Science and International Cooperation and Mr. Nguyen Tung Lam - Director of Consulting Center, Training and Natural resources and Environment services.

EAS is a multi-disciplinary organization consisting of Japanese corporations with various fields such as: Yachiyoenjiniyaringu Co., Ltd; Pacific Consultants Co., Ltd .; NSC environment Co., Ltd .; Osumi Co., Ltd .; Japan weather Association; Nippon Koei Co., Ltd .; Co., Ltd. Mitsubishi Estatedesign .... At the meeting, JEAS expressed its desire to be coordinated by ISPONRE, to support information exchange in environmental impact assessment, and to seek opportunities for Japanese companies in Vietnam. Chancellor Nguyen The Chinh asserted that the Institute is willing to support JEAS as well as OSUMI Viet Nam in this field and support the enhancement of Japanese business contacts to seek cooperation opportunities.

The two sides agreed to have a plan for long-term cooperation in the coming time. ISPONRE also offers a number of collaborative activity plans, such as seminars or policy dialogues on recycling, waste recycling, etc. in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. Japanese enterprises have the opportunity to come closer to environmental policy in Vietnam.
