In 2019, the ISPONRE - Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment cooperates with ESCAP to implement a pilot study on the National Ocean Accounts to integrate information from the areas of policy and institutional framework for monitoring the progress of SDG14, as well as contribute to the improvement of multi-disciplinary policies to optimize the sustainable use of the ocean while minimizing the risk of ecosystem degradation and natural disasters.
The main content of the training workshop was to discuss about research scope; review suitable activities; priorities for policy-related data products that would be developed under the pilot study; provide basic knowledge of ocean accounts and develop short-term work plans to develop final products of the pilot study. Many experts and research and management agencies that are related to the field of economy and environment attended the training workshop.
